Lip Blush Aftercare
Lip blush healing is a process, and your colour will change quite a lot before it settles. It is normal for lips to look bright at first, then darker, then lighter or drier before the final colour appears. The healed result is designed to be soft, natural and beautifully blended.
Immediately after your appointment
Your lips may feel swollen, tender, tight or warm. The colour will usually look brighter and more vibrant than the final healed result.
For the first 2 hours, gently pat the lips with a clean cotton round as directed by your artist to remove excess lymph fluid.
Apply your recommended aftercare balm or cream as instructed.
Lip healing reminders
Drink through a straw for 24 hours.
Avoid sun exposure for 7 days.
Avoid exercise for 5 days.
Avoid saunas, steam rooms and swimming for 7 days.
Apply aftercare cream or balm 2–4 times per day, or as directed.
Avoid makeup, active skincare and other products directly on the lips while healing.
Avoid Botox and cosmetic injectables for at least 3 weeks.
Do not pick, peel or scratch the lips.
-
Your lips may look very bright and feel swollen or tight. This is normal and will settle.
Drink through a straw for the first 24 hours where possible, and avoid touching your lips unless your hands are freshly washed.
-
The colour may appear darker and your lips may still feel slightly swollen. This stage can feel intense, but it is temporary.
Keep the lips hydrated with your aftercare product and avoid picking or rubbing.
-
Scabbing, flaking and peeling may begin. Your lips may feel dry or tight.
Do not pick, peel or pull at the skin. Let it shed naturally to avoid patchy healed colour.
-
Most of the peeling should begin to settle. Your lips may start to feel more comfortable and almost back to normal.
The colour may look lighter at this stage, which is expected.
-
Peeling usually continues to subside and a softer, more natural colour will start to appear. Your lips may still feel dry, so continue keeping them moisturised.
-
Your lips will continue to settle and the final colour will become more visible. Any dryness should have improved, and the healed result will look softer and more natural than the initial colour.
Powder Brow Aftercare
Your brow tattoo will heal in stages, and it is completely normal for the colour and appearance to change throughout the process. Brows can look darker, lighter, patchy or uneven before they settle into their final result. Try not to panic during the healing phase. This is all part of the process.
Immediately after your appointment
Your brows may appear bold, warm in colour and slightly swollen or tender. This is normal. Follow your artist’s aftercare instructions carefully and avoid touching the area unless your hands are freshly washed.
Apply your recommended aftercare cream as directed.
Brow healing reminders
Avoid getting your brows wet for 7 days.
Avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days.
Avoid exercise for 5 days.
Avoid saunas, steam rooms and swimming for 7 days.
Do not apply makeup, skincare or active ingredients directly over your brows for 1 week.
Avoid Botox and chemical peels for at least 3 weeks.
Do not pick, scratch or peel any scabbing.
After your touch-up
Your touch-up appointment helps perfect the shape, colour and overall finish of your brows. Once fully healed, your brows should appear softer, more balanced and more settled.
-
Your brows will usually look their darkest during this stage. The shape may appear sharper and more intense than expected, but this will soften as the skin begins to heal.
Avoid getting your brows wet, sweating heavily, sun exposure, makeup around the brow area and touching or rubbing the skin.
-
Light scabbing, flaking and itchiness may begin. This is a normal part of healing.
Do not pick, scratch or peel the skin, as this can pull pigment out and affect your healed results. Let any flaking come away naturally.
Continue applying aftercare cream as instructed.
-
Your brows may look lighter, patchy or as though the colour has disappeared in some areas. This is often called the “ghosting” stage and is completely normal.
The pigment is still settling under the skin, so avoid judging the final result too early.
-
The colour will gradually begin to return and soften into a more natural result. Any areas that have healed lighter or unevenly can be assessed at your touch-up appointment.
